Description
The Youth Justice Service is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner at the PO5 level to join our dynamic team. This role is instrumental in managing and supervising youth justice practitioners, ensuring that we provide high-quality support and guidance to young individuals who come into contact with the justice system. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in shaping policies and practices that promote the rehabilitation and reintegration of young offenders into society. You will work closely with other agencies, including social services, law enforcement, and educational institutions, to create a multidisciplinary approach to youth justice. Your expertise in risk assessment, intervention strategies, and case management will be vital in helping to develop and implement effective programs tailored to meet the needs of vulnerable young people. Furthermore, you will provide mentorship and support to junior staff, fostering a cohesive working environment that prioritizes professional development and best practices in youth justice. Responsibilities
Supervise and support a team of youth justice practitioners to ensure effective delivery of services.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of young people's needs and risks, developing tailored intervention plans.
Collaborate with partner agencies to coordinate and improve services for youth in the justice system.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
Provide training, guidance, and support to junior staff to enhance their professional development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records in compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
Participate in case reviews and multidisciplinary meetings to share insights and strategies for youth rehabilitation.
Requirements
Qualified social worker or relevant professional qualification in youth justice, criminology, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience working with young people in a justice or social services context.
Strong knowledge of youth justice legislation, policies, and best practices.
Proven experience in case management and risk assessment techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and their families.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in supervising or mentoring staff.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including statutory and voluntary agencies.

Pay Per Hour: £25.51
