We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Merthyr Tydfil to assist with the appointment of a Kitchen Assistant, on a 2-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.05 - £16.57 per hour
Summary:
We are seeking a committed and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our care home team within the Social Services Group. As a Grade 2 Kitchen Assistant, you will support the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring a clean, hygienic, and safe kitchen environment. You will work under the direction of the Cook or Catering Supervisor, contributing to the overall wellbeing of residents through the provision of nutritious meals.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages in line with dietary requirements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and dining areas.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using manual or mechanical methods.
Check and store deliveries, ensuring stock rotation and minimising waste.
Report any concerns about food safety, kitchen equipment, or supplies to the Cook or Manager.
Requirements:
Experience working in a kitchen or catering environment (preferably in a care home or similar setting) is desirable.
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Experience working with vulnerable adults or in a care setting would be beneficial.

You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
You should have right to work in U.K
