Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Groundworks Working Foreman to lead a team on various construction sites. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, highly skilled in groundworks, and capable of supervising teams while actively contributing to daily tasks. This role involves ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of groundworkers on-site.
  • Read and interpret site drawings, levels, and specifications.
  • Organize daily tasks and allocate duties to ensure productivity and progress.
  • Carry out groundwork activities including but not limited to:
  • Excavations
  • Drainage
  • Concreting
  • Kerbing
  • Slabbing
  • Setting out
Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Liaise with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to maintain workflow and quality. Inspect work and provide guidance to ensure compliance with project requirements. Maintain accurate records of progress and site activity. Assist in ordering and checking materials and deliveries.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in groundworks, with at least 2 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • CSCS card (Gold or higher preferred).
  • SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
  • First Aid at Work (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred).
  • Experience with plant and machinery operation (tickets advantageous).
