About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in supporting both pupils and the class teacher. Your responsibilities will be varied and rewarding, including:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to children, helping them grasp new concepts and overcome learning challenges.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom management, and creating engaging learning resources.
  • Supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they receive the tailored attention required to thrive.
  • Helping to maintain a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged.
  • Supervising children during activities, breaks, and potentially on school trips.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone with a genuine passion for education and a nurturing approach. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience working with children, preferably within a primary school setting, though strong candidates with relevant childcare experience will also be considered.
  • A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude, with the ability to build rapport quickly with children and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to effectively interact with pupils, teachers, and parents.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to your work, ready to adapt to the dynamic nature of a school environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are beneficial but not essential if you possess the right attitude and experience.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
