The University has experienced significant growth in turnover through the development of strategic partnerships, international activity and income diversification. To support this growth and development, the Finance Directorate has undergone a transformation and, as part of this, has created a new role of Head of Financial Reporting.
The financial reporting teams in the University are responsible for the provision of a full range of management and financial accounting services to the Senior Management Team and Governors of the University. This role requires effective leadership of the teams who provide these services. This includes responsibility for the production of monthly management accounts; quarterly compliance reports; completion of financial forecasts; completion of year-end financial statements; oversight of the external audit; treasury services for cash flow management; taxation management and reporting; the completion of due diligence reviews and monitoring of commercial undertakings; and, the completion of a range of external returns and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
The role requires an experienced Accountant with strong technical accounting and reporting skills who can provide support to the Finance teams in the range of services they provide to the University. In order to meet the high professional standard of reporting for internal and external stakeholders, you should be able to demonstrate your strong technical knowledge to underpin the management of the teams and for sharing with colleagues as they develop their skills and apply this to their work.
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is split between home and office working. The Finance Department places a strong emphasis on professional development, with formal and informal training provided for the successful candidate. Other key benefits of working at the University include membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, generous holiday entitlements, flexible working and health and wellbeing support.
Start date for applications: 23rd of June 2025
Closing date for applications: 7th of July 2025
