Position: Full-Time Temporary Admin Officer
Contract: 4 months with the possibility of extending
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours (37 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £17.09 per hour

Job Description:

We are looking for an Environment Assistant to join our Waste Regulation team at the Environment Agency office in Preston. The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting Environment Officers and Senior Environment Officers on administrative duties including but not limited to records management, information requests and simple compliance work as well as monitoring and providing data for the Senior Environment Officers to ensure the management and delivery of waste KPIs and reporting requirements to time. The assistant will lead on records management and collate information towards the pollution inventory as well as ordering PPE and equipment as necessary.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • To meet legal obligations assist in delivering Freedom of Information Requests
    * Providing and maintaining efficient systems
    * External liaison with customers, permitting teams and site operators
    * Compiling monitoring returns
    * Support simple compliance work


Experience required:

You'll be able to demonstrate that you have experience of, or skills in:
* Effective communication and developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
* Influencing and persuading customers.
* Working independently, taking decisions and solving problems to achieve positive outcomes.
* Prioritises and organises tasks and resources to ensure timely achievement of results
* Working co-operatively as part of a larger team to achieve common goals.
