Job Title: School Caretaker / Premises Officer
Location: Maharishi School, Cobbs Brow Lane, Lathom L40 6JJ
Contract Type: Part-time
Working Pattern: Mon-Fri 07:30-09:00 and 16:00-17:30, Term-time + five extra weeks
Salary: £9545 pro-rata per year, £795 per month
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, proactive and practical School Caretaker to join our friendly team. This is a key role in ensuring that our school is a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
You will be responsible for maintaining the premises to a high standard, overseeing site security, carrying out basic repairs and maintenance, and supporting the smooth running of the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and locking the school site, ensuring it is secure
Conducting daily safety and maintenance checks
Carrying out minor repairs (e.g. changing light bulbs, unblocking sinks, fixing door handles)
Monitoring cleaning standards and liaising with cleaning contractors
Supporting health and safety procedures (fire alarm checks, risk assessments, etc.)
Overseeing deliveries and managing site supplies
Maintaining outdoor areas (e.g. sweeping, litter picking, snow/ice clearance if needed)
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Is practical, hands-on, and takes pride in maintaining a high standard of work
Is reliable, punctual and able to work independently
Has a good understanding of health and safety procedures
Is approachable, flexible and able to respond quickly to issues as they arise
Ideally has previous experience in a similar role (not essential – training can be provided)
