Join Citizens Advice Rural Cambs, in partnership with Cambridge & District Citizens Advice, as we continue our impactful work with Change Grow Live (CGL) – a national charity supporting individuals needing help with challenges including drugs or alcohol, housing instability, domestic abuse, and mental health issues.
We’re looking for a dedicated Generalist Adviser to provide high-quality, face-to-face support to CGL clients in Huntingdon and Wisbech. You’ll help people navigate complex issues like welfare benefits, housing, debt, and budgeting – empowering them to take control of their lives.
What You Will Be Doing
· Delivering tailored advice and casework to CGL clients
· Supporting clients face-to-face, by phone, and online
· Helping clients understand their rights and options
· Liaising with third parties and advocating on clients’ behalf
· Maintaining accurate case records and contributing to impact reporting
· Collaborating with partner agencies and contributing to research and campaigns
What We are Looking For
· Experience in advice work or a related support role
· Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, housing, and debt advice (or willingness to learn)
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload
