(Depending upon experience and qualifications) 30 hours per week (8.15am - 3.30pm term time only including INSET days) Actual pro rata salary = £21,331 - £21,635We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will be placed according to their experience and the needs of the school.The role would suit someone who has prior school-based experience who is looking for a new experience. It is an expectation at our school that all teaching assistants also work as midday play leaders to ensure our children have a happy and stimulating lunchtime experience – this will be paid in addition to the TA working hours at £15.19 per hour (£3513 pa)Why work at Hillcross? We are looking for someone who is: • Committed to our mission, vision and values • Shows a personal commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and rights of young people. • An excellent team member • Experienced in supporting children’s learning • Able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills • ICT literate • Able to communicate with and build strong professional relationships with all members of the school community, including children and parents. • Willingness to participate in development and training opportunities The post will involve: • Working collaboratively with the class teacher in a range of ways to ensure high quality first teaching and learning in the classroom • Establishing constructive relationships with pupils and interacting with them according to individual needs. • Adapting lesson plans and relevant resources to take account of pupil’s individual needs, maintaining challenging yet realistic expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence. • Providing feedback to pupils and other staff working with them in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher. • Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress in line with school policy. • Supporting other children in the class when the child is working independently or with other adults. • Attending and participating in relevant meetings as required. • Participating in training and other learning activities and performance development as required. • Assisting with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtime. • Accompanying teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required. • Setting challenging and demanding expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence. • Liaising with and feeding back to the class teacher, Inclusion Manager, parents and all other agencies working with the child.
