Job Title: Mechanical Service Engineer

Hours: average 45-55 hours per week

Location: Holywell

Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for a leading UK-based manufacturer and supplier of abrasive shot blasting equipment, media, and other surface preparation and finishing systems. With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, they provide high-quality solutions and services to customers across the UK and Ireland.

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is a field-based role that involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of our blasting equipment at customer sites. The role offers a varied and interesting workload, ideal for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair blasting and surface finishing equipment.
  • Carry out detailed assessments of machine condition and complete accurate service reports.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and basic electrical issues, particularly during emergency breakdowns.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to equipment efficiency or productivity while on site.
  • Undertake fitting, welding, and basic fabrication tasks during on-site repairs and renewals.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong mechanical engineering skills.
  • Basic electrical knowledge.
  • Experience in fitting, welding, and on-site fabrication.
  • Excellent communication skills with both customers and internal staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, unsociable hours, and stay overnight as required.
