Plumpton College are recruiting a professional and ambitious individual to be part of our Schools and Colleges Liaison Team. This team member will share our values, be driven to make a difference to the lives of our students and be part of this exciting phase of our development.
This is a full-time role based at Plumpton College in Lewes, with frequent opportunities for travel and weekend/evening work. The role requires a flexible approach to the working week as many school events are held in the evenings, plus some on-site weekend college events and shows. The postholder will work as part of the Marketing team reporting to the Marketing Manager and will be supervised on a day-to-day basis by the Schools & Colleges Co-ordinator.
We are looking for an individual who is an excellent communicator, confident public speaker, extremely well organised, proactive and dedicated to working in schools and colleges to further enhance the reputation of Plumpton College. You’ll be out on the road, visiting and establishing good working relationships with secondary schools and colleges in your area. You’ll be attending careers events, presenting assemblies, running workshops and outreach activities with certain target schools, utilising both the Plumpton College campus and our Horticultural campus at One Garden Brighton, Stanmer Park. Some of your time will be spent delivering sessions with prospective students, showcasing the full range of courses Plumpton College has to offer, including tours at both our campuses.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an educational setting, be professional, hardworking and confident team players who are flexible, open to new challenges and able to work in a deadline driven environment.
Essential criteria for the post
Have a basic understanding of the Government’s agenda for 14-19 provision and careers strategy
Have an understanding of the qualifications appropriate for 14-19 provision
Have experience of qualifications development to meet requirements of schools, colleges and government agenda
Evidence of good planning, organisational and time management skills
Hold a Level 4 qualification or equivalent
Be exceptionally customer focussed with a positive and flexible attitude
Be a confident public speaker
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to evidence excellent team working skills and ability to work independently
Sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages and able to demonstrate competent IT skills
Willing and able to travel to external venues
Able to demonstrate pro-active problem-solving skills
Willing and able to regularly work during evenings and weekends
Desirable criteria
Experience of working in a marketing / promotional environment within education
Experience of working within an educational environment
Experience of working within the land-based sector
Hold a marketing qualification
Hold a customer service qualification
Experience of tutoring students
