Are you passionate about safeguarding and offering emotional support to young people and young adults during their educational journey? We are seeking a dedicated Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding officer to work alongside the Student Wellbeing & Safeguarding Team in responding to the safeguarding and emotional support needs of our students.

Key Responsibilities

Case management: To triage and signpost student to suitable support options including holding a caseload of students requiring 1:1s for child protection concerns or mental health difficulties.

Advocacy and representation: To ensure the student’s voice is heard within meetings with police, children services, CAMHS, and other professional services.
Administration: To process sensitive safeguarding pre-enrolment information, triage referrals, liaise with parents and professionals and manage shared inboxes.
Record keeping: To maintain a clear factual log of records for all disclosures, observations, discussions and meeting.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience working with young people & young adults, ideally within a safeguarding role.
Strong understanding of child protection issues that affect young people and vulnerable adults.
Strong understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
A secure knowledge of safeguarding legislation and the associated processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, within a fast-paced environment.
Strong organisational, record keeping and administrative skills.
