Historic England have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Marine Historic Environment Record Officer.
This is a 3 months Fixed-Term Contract.
The location of this role is National where we offer hybrid working, you will be based in one of our following offices and from home - Newcastle, York, Manchester, Birmingham, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth (Fort Cumberland) and Cambridge.
Salary
National: £24,208 pro-rata
Greater London+: £25,861 pro-rata
Inner London: £28,060 pro-rata

What you will be doing
As our Marine Historic Environment Record (HER) Officer, you will help maintain the National Marine Heritage Record (NMHR) and will provide information to support research and the preparation of policies and proposals for the management of sustainable change in the marine historic environment. You will work to ensure that Historic England (HE), its partners and members of the public have access to accurate and reliable information about the marine historic environment.
You will also assist the Marine HER Manager in the analysis and interpretation of data relating to the marine historic environment, as well as other relevant datasets, and will help provide a specialist customer service for internal and external users of the NMHR.

Relevant higher education qualification
Experience of using databases, spreadsheets and GIS
A demonstrable interest in maritime history
Good logical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Good collaborative and administrative skills to support effective liaison with internal and external colleagues
Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
