We are working with a welcoming, inclusive primary school in Birmingham to recruit three Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants. These full-time roles provide a fantastic opportunity for graduates to develop their skills while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with SEND, including autism and speech, language & communication needs.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Why You Should Apply:

• Start date: Immediate or September 2025
• Work 1:1 supporting pupils with autism spectrum conditions and communication difficulties

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What You’ll Be Doing:

• Providing tailored 1:1 support for children with SEND needs, including autism and SLCN
• Supporting pupils awaiting specialist placements or with undiagnosed needs
• Assisting classroom teachers to enable learning and engagement for all pupils
• Helping implement individual support plans and monitoring pupil progress
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing with patience and empathy
• Supporting small group interventions and contributing to whole-school SEND initiatives
• Encouraging development of social, communication, and independence skills
• Participating in ongoing training and professional development opportunities

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – What We’re Looking For:

• A degree or recent graduate status
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs is essential
• Patience, resilience, and adaptability in 1:1 and small group settings
• Good communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Commitment to fostering inclusion, respect, and high expectations
• A proactive and compassionate approach to working with children and colleagues
• Interest in pursuing a long-term career in education, SEND support, or teaching
