Corporate and Delivery Directorate works closely with the Home Office’s policy and operational commands to enable us together to deliver the department’s priorities. The directorate is comprised of different teams and professional functions, including Commercial, Finance, People, Portfolio and Project Delivery, Security, Estates and Information and Digital, Data and Technology.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to work at SEO level to provide critical activities to support the delivery of Commercial’s objectives. These roles could be of interest experienced procurement professionals and commercial analysts who are looking to broaden their commercial skills in a central commercial function or to existing commercial staff who would enjoy taking on a new role.

We are seeking diligent individuals to work at SEO level to provide critical activities to support the delivery of Commercial’s objectives. These roles could be of interest to commercial professionals with procurement experience and expertise or contract managers who are looking to broaden their commercial skills in a central commercial function or to existing commercial staff who would enjoy taking on a new role. Successful candidates will receive a programme of development with the opportunity to study towards professional commercial qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Procurements: Manage complex procurement activities in line with Home Office policies and procurement law, producing detailed procurement plans and identifying commercial opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business needs and desired outcomes.
- Support Complex Projects: Assist Commercial Leads with financial analysis, business case development, and market engagement to refine requirements and secure critical goods and services.
- Market Engagement: Conduct early supplier engagement to inform tender processes, encourage competition, and ensure robust procurement outcomes.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with G7 Commercial Leads to develop category strategies, sourcing plans, and identify efficiencies across the commercial portfolio.
- Contract Management: Oversee contract delivery with business units and suppliers, ensuring milestones, funding, and risk assessments are effectively managed.
- Commercial Guidance: Advise colleagues on procurement legislation, policy, and market trends, maintaining awareness of legal and policy developments.
- Capability Building: Mentor peers and junior staff, support talent development, and apply analytical skills to enhance procurement value and performance.
Working Patterns
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.
