Stirling Council’s Cemeteries team are looking for an apprentice to learn the dual roles of a cemeteries operative and monumental technician. You must have a genuine ability to work within a very sensitive environment, learning about the delivery of an internment service, general maintenance of cemeteries and supporting members of the public. The monumental technician side of the role, you will work on activities including the memorial survey and repair programme, learning how to carry out repairs using traditional methods, such as lime mortar. As an Apprentice, you will undertake a bespoke training package including a Monumental Technician National Progress Award, Cemetery Operations Professional Development Award, training in Making & Using Traditional Mortars, Excavator licence, Emergency first aid and be willing to undertake any other training relevant to the role. You must enjoy working outdoors and be prepared to work in all weather conditions and be adaptable.

Requirements

You will be 18-24 years old and be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for this role and have a commitment to learn. As this is opportunity is an Apprenticeship and candidates between 20-29 years old may be eligible for enhanced funding if you have a disability or are care experienced.
