Job Description & Responsibilities:

We are currently looking for a time-served Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Tipton on a permanent basis, working a double days shift (Monday to Friday). This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of plant equipment across the site.

Your work will include a mix of electrical and mechanical tasks, particularly focusing on:

  • Electrical maintenance and fault-finding on industrial boilers

  • Working with and repairing AC/DC motors, gearboxes, and pumps

  • Performing welding and fabrication as needed to support breakdowns or mechanical fixes

  • Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

  • Reacting to and resolving unplanned breakdowns quickly and effectively

  • Supporting production with ongoing equipment issues and ensuring minimal downtime

  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance work completed

This role is ideally suited to a practical, hands-on engineer with a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems. No formal qualifications are required - we're looking for someone who is time-served, experienced, and confident working across a wide range of industrial equipment.

Requirements:
  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills

  • Welding experience is essential

  • Good knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, industrial environment

  • Proactive and reliable with a strong work ethic
