We are recruiting an Information Security Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Penallta / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Procurement and Information Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £34,314 - £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The role includes maintaining business continuity by protecting the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the Council’s digital infrastructure and associated assets, from a wide range of security threats and vulnerabilities. This involves the monitoring, reviewing, and continual improvement of the level of Cyber/Information Security within the Council, and maintaining compliance to the relevant Cyber/Information Security Standards.
The successful candidate must have an understanding of the implications of Cyber/Information Security on the Council’s business and within the wider Welsh public sector and across the UK.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. A Relevant Level 4 or 5 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
2. An understanding the implications of information security on the Council’s business.
3. The ability to plan, prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
4. A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel to meetings.
