Key responsibilities include facilitating staff training and advising on person centred approaches, positive behaviour support, communication, sensory needs, interaction, and environments in order to develop our workforce and ensure that people Sense support can live a good quality of life.

This role would suit education, health or social care professionals who are interested in sharing and developing their knowledge of best practice, positive behaviour support and communication strategies for people with deafblindness and/or complex needs. Coaching and mentoring from an experienced member of the team will be provided, alongside train-the-trainer opportunities, so that you have the skills, knowledge and ability to support Sense.

We’re looking for enthusiastic applicants who:

Are positive, with a can-do attitude
Will ideally have experience in promoting best practice and have a mentoring/ coaching approach to the way you work
Are comfortable creating and sharing reports based on functional sensory assessments conducted for the people we support
Will ideally have experience providing training/ support to a wide range of stakeholders
Have an aspiration to lead and inspire the people around them
No two days will be the same

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities, including those who are deafblind, to live the life they choose. Your priority will be to support staff teams that empower the people they support to live an independent life.

You can see a more detailed description of duties in the job description attached at the bottom of this advert.
