We are seeking a Goods-In Controller to join our client in their friendly team in Goods In/ Out. This role is a full time, permanent position offering an excellent opportunity for someone who has worked within a similar role in Goods In/Out.
The company
Established over 47 years ago, our client works with companies across the UK and Ireland to help them protect the health of employees within their workplace, monitoring environmental conditions. The company have a huge customer base working within a wide variety of industries including offshore, motorsports offering a safety critical element to what they do.
The role
The primary function of Goods In/Out is to work closely is to work closely with various departments across the business to support the company’s retail, hire and service operations in a combined Department, with a two-way movement of goods. Other functions include taking delivery of internal and office supplies and maintaining relationships with partner delivery companies.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Being the main point of contact for relevant stakeholders and courier partners
• Receipt of goods in from suppliers using either bar code scanners or manual input onto SAP
• Allocation of goods to relevant departments
• Adding stock to the correct location in stores
• Checking the correct parts are received against the original purchase order
• Creating receipts for returned hire and service instruments using SAP
• Inspecting to ensure all returned Hire instruments are correct
• Arranging sales, hire and service deliveries and collections with delivery partners
• Allocating correct shipping details to various types of goods
• Periodic stock checks and stock taking
• Carrying out additional duties as and when required
The Person
This is a hands-on role and we are looking for a candidate with the following skills and attributes:
• Ideally, previous experience working in a warehouse / logistics or related role
• Experience with shipping Dangerous goods such as batteries and calibration gas would be highly advantageous
• Experience of MS Office
• Ability to prioritise tasks
• Good initiative and a quick learner
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to follow processes and check against procedures
• Self-Motivated, good initiative and high level of energy
• Resourcefulness
• Ability to question and find the best solution
• A proactive “can do” attitude
• Reliable and responsible
• Have a positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Details
This role is offered on a Full-time, permanent basis working for a friendly and busy team. The working hours are 37.75 hours a week Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 17:00 and Friday – 08:30 – 16:00. The salary negotiable, depending on experience + Benefits.
