Summary & Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a professional, proactive, and customer-focused Security Officer to join our dedicated team at a prestigious retail outlet. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and Security of the Centre, its staff, visitors, and brand partners. As part of a collaborative team of security professionals, you will deliver excellence in service, protection, and compliance, always upholding the highest standards.

Full Time/ Permanent - Average 38 Hours Per Week.

Pay rate £13.95 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for a range of duties that contribute to the smooth and secure operation of the Centre.

Your core responsibilities include:

-Safeguarding the premises, assets, and people through regular patrols and continuous monitoring, in accordance with the site's Assignment Instructions (AI) and Health & Safety protocols.

-Act as an ambassador for the outlet, delivering a welcoming and professional presence. Assist visitors, staff, and brands in ensuring a positive and safe environment.

-Assist in leading and coordinating the response to incidents, emergencies, and evacuations, ensuring swift and compliant execution of all protocols.

-Support fellow security team members during daily operations and high-pressure situations, promoting a united and effective approach.

-Identify and report any suspicious activity or potential threats to safety or stock. Work proactively to prevent theft, damage, or other security breaches.

-Ensure the safety of the Centre during evening hours, including managing night time economy.

-Overseeing vehicle movement within the Centre to prevent congestion and hazards.

-Be vigilant in spotting signs of fire, flooding, or other risks and act swiftly to report and resolve such incidents.

Skills & Experience Required

-Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - with a focus on clarity, empathy, and professionalism.

-Strong background in customer service and ability to maintain a calm, confident presence in all situations.

-Proven experience working effectively both independently and as part of a team.

-A valid SIA Licence (Door Supervisor or Security Guarding) is essential.

-Ability to remain composed under pressure and handle difficult situations with discretion and authority.

-Keen attention to detail, with a proactive mindset and excellent time management.

-A 5-year checkable work history
