Home Office Intelligence brings together a number of existing teams involved in the collection and analysis of border and immigration related intelligence. It delivers Intelligence Collection, Development, Analysis, Targeting (Data Analytics) and Watchlisting capabilities within the Home Office and to its partners across Government and Law Enforcement. This is a challenging post giving you the exposure to a diverse and interesting range of work. you will lead the Data Futures Technology and Change team and will be expected to support business areas across the directorate to deliver Home Office Intelligence’s data and technology transformation agenda, as well as supporting the embedding of the changes into business as usual.
You will work closely with the wider Immigration Enforcement and Border Force transformation portfolios, project managers and digital delivery teams to steer and manage project delivery, including dependencies, risks, and issues.
We are looking for a strong senior leader with experience in leading project delivery to confidently collaborate with external stakeholders, peers, and suppliers to drive successful delivery across the business.
You will be the senior representative for key project stakeholders and will be accountable for driving and ensuring the successful delivery of projects through the complete project lifecycle: from initiation to live service support, to agreed time, cost and quality.
As part of the Senior Leadership Team in Home Office Intelligence you will champion and communicate digital change across the directorate and wider Immigration Enforcement and Border Force.
in addition to this you will Ensure project delivery schedules and other project management tools, including communication and stakeholder management plans, impact assessments, effective governance structures, and risk and issue logs, for the programme are effectively used to drive and monitor project progress.
You will work collaboratively with operational areas and wider Immigration Enforcement and Border Force colleagues to ensure project initiation documentation and business cases are fit for purpose and that proposals build on and support wider programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Monitoring expenditure against agreed budgets and explore funding options for new pieces of work.
- Recognise and actively manage interdependencies across projects both within own programme and through close liaison across other dependency areas. Prevent silo delivery and misalignment.
- Work collaboratively with operational areas and transformation portfolios to ensure projects are adequately resourced. Develop strategies to address resource gaps.
- Identifying and manage project and programme risks and issues, planning and implementing mitigating strategies as necessary.
- Map stakeholder interest and influence to determine priorities for engagement and communication. Develop constructive relationships that enable collaboration to resolve issues and differences between stakeholders, challenging assumptions where necessary.
- Work with partners and stakeholders to develop mechanisms for measuring benefits. Establish ownership and responsibility within the business for benefit realisation.
- Ensure that lessons learned reviews are routinely conducted across the projects and the outputs used constructively to inform future activity.
- Oversee design /delivery of Business Change activity to ensure impacted business areas are ready, willing and able to make the operational and behavioural changes required to deliver success.
Working Pattern:
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, Flexible and compressed working are available.
