As Head of Intelligence and Targeting, you will lead DVSA’s intelligence strategy, ensuring our enforcement activities are driven by high-quality, actionable intelligence. You will be the Agency’s principal advisor and spokesperson on intelligence, covert activity, criminal analytics, and intelligence gathering techniques.

This is a pivotal leadership role, where you will:

  • Shape and continuously improve DVSA’s intelligence capabilities.
  • Collaborate with enforcement and service delivery colleagues to embed intelligence-led practices.
  • Ensure alignment with legislation, policy, and departmental objectives.
  • Represent DVSA in the UK and EU, building strong partnerships for intelligence sharing and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of intelligence products that support targeted enforcement and compliance.
  • Manage the targeted framework process and operator risk rating system.
  • Provide strategic input at national level, ensuring targeting activities are efficient, effective, and future-proof.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices in intelligence and analytics.
  • Act as the primary liaison with UK and EU intelligence and compliance partners.
