Are you looking for a full-time role supporting children with special educational needs on a 1:1 basis?
About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with a caring and inclusive primary school in Derby to appoint a committed SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant. This fixed-term post offers the opportunity to support pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), focusing on academic, social, and emotional development. You'll work under the guidance of class teachers and the SENCO to deliver targeted support, manage behaviour positively, and help each child thrive in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEND in line with EHCP targets.
- Assist with planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
- Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social interaction.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and external agencies.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
What We're Looking For
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally with EHCP involvement.
- Confident using behaviour support strategies and managing challenging behaviour.
- Understanding of the importance of inclusion, communication, and child development.
- Ability to work closely with teaching staff and wider school teams.
