Crynodeb
Under supervision, support and manage a cohort of patients with viral hepatitis, within set protocols. Develop and maintain clinical expertise and deliver the highest standards of care to meet the needs of the patients, their carers and significant others. Work in the out-reach services which may include prison health Provide a blood borne virus testing service as required. To work alongside ID & Hepatology teams in the management of chronic disease. Attend and participate in the Hepatitis Nurse Forum. Attend and participate in the ID/Liver meetings. Following training process patients referred with viral hepatitis through the Nurse-led clinic within a protocol driven pathway.Oct 2019 Follow training order and interpret investigations. Follow training perform Fibroscan (non-invasive assessment of liver disease). Develop and use own clinical judgment to refer directly to medical staff in line with department guidelines as required. To liaise and exchange relevant information about patients with other hospital departments when necessary within defined statutory regulations.
