Aspire Jobs are working exclusively with our client, who are a leading manufacturer in the electronics sector, known for delivering high-quality products to the aerospace and defence industries. They are seeking an experienced and proactive Production Buyer to support procurement activities and ensure the timely supply of materials for manufacturing.

Job Summary:
The Production Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for production. This role plays a key part in managing supplier relationships, ensuring on-time delivery, controlling costs, and maintaining inventory levels aligned with production schedules.

The successful Production Buyer will:-

Have previous buying or purchasing experience from within manufacturing
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
Knowledge of production planning and supply chain processes.
Proficient in using ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Raise purchase orders and manage delivery schedules to meet production plans.
Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for direct production materials.
Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages or delays.
Work closely with production planning, engineering, and quality teams.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier performance, and costings.
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing and negotiation.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies, quality issues, and logistics problems.
Conduct regular supplier reviews and performance evaluations.
