Teaching Assistant
Location: Newark, Nottinghamshire (NG24)
Pay: £90 - £105 per day
Start Date: September 2025 (interviews and trial days arranged now)
Contract Type: Full-time, 8:30am - 4:00pm, Term time only
Role Type: Long-term to permanent
Long Term Futures are working alongside an independent specialist SEN school just outside Newark, supporting pupils aged 5-19 with autism and related needs. Set in peaceful countryside surroundings, the setting is renowned for its creative, personalised curriculum, high staff-to-student ratio and structured therapeutic environment. We're looking for a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join the school.
Interviews and trial days are being held as soon as possible, to secure the right candidate for a September 2025 start.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver planned and adapted learning activities to individuals or small groups, supporting a wide range of academic and developmental needs.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support, helping pupils develop self-regulation and positive routines both in and out of the classroom.
- Assist with daily learning resources and prepare materials in line with lesson plans.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff and families, promoting inclusion, independence and positive self-esteem.
- Offer support with personal care needs where required.
- Accompany pupils on educational visits and off-site activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience supporting young people with autism, SEN or SEMH needs
- A calm, nurturing, and resilient approach, able to adapt to students needs
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Relevant qualifications (CACHE or Level 2/3 TA) are desirable but not essential
