We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow to commence as soon as possible; appointment is for a 1-year fixed term period in the first instance with the possibility of a further 12-month extension.
Although the post is non-training grade, there will be direct Consultant supervision and an educational programme including annual appraisal, 4-monthly supervisor meetings, access to an e-portfolio and relevant study leave.
There will be a specific programme of protected teaching and a wide range of other clinical training activities.
The postholder is encouraged to undertake audit and quality improvement projects. They will also be supported to pursue Membership examinations in their chosen specialty. There will be options to develop formal teaching or research.
The post offers excellent experience in Urology and would be suitable for someone who has completed Basic Surgical Training and is looking for an opportunity to widen their experience prior to moving on to Higher Surgical Training.
Opportunities exist within the Directorate for the postholder to conduct clinical research . Furthermore the post would be ideal for anyone wishing to undertake further academic study, eg MsC/B.Ed and protected study time can be built in the job plan accordingly.

• The weekly timetable will include ward rounds, theatre sessions and outpatients clinics along with audit/surgical meetings once per week,
• Participation on the Middle Grade full shift rota
• Continuing care of patients on the ward during the day
• Perform duties in unforeseen or emergency circumstances at the request of the consultant
• Requirement for involvement in teaching, especially under-graduates
• Cover the absence of colleagues, eg annual leave, study leave
