A little about myself:
I am a delightful, 4-year-old little girl with ASD and GDD. I am very affectionate and love to be cuddled and rocked. I am looking for a kind lady to take me to play in fun activities and give my mum and dad a break. I like animals and water and being rocked. I need to be carried a lot because of my GDD, and I need reassurance that you are always with me. I have no awareness of danger and have no self-care skills.
Driver required to take me out.
After a period of rapport and trust building at home, I will need a PA who drives to take me to places for me to develop my social independence. Taking me for yummy treats will help me to be comfortable with you.
Female/male preferred. Ratio of 1-1.
Hours of work 4 hours x 39 weeks in term time, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 10 miles,
8 hours x 13 weeks in school holidays, schedule to be agreed with parents plus 20 miles.
Rate of pay.
£16.92 per hour before tax and NI.
£0.39p per mile.
Essential: You must be patient and kind and happy. You must be experienced in working with young people who have ASD and severe GDD. You must be strong and fit. to keep up with me and stop me from running into unsafe places. You must be able to swim competently and be happy to take me swimming or playing in the water.
Desirable: I’d prefer if: You are trained in first aid.
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
