Summary
A little about myself:
I am a delightful, chatty, 9-year-old girl who loves going to school, spending time with friends and playing with my toys. I have a diagnosis of Bulbar palsy which means I cannot have anything by mouth however I can manage this safety myself. I have a diagnosis of global developmental delay and language difficulties however I am very chatty and happy to communicate my thoughts and feelings. I enjoy going out to activities including soft play, swimming and parks.
Driver required to take me out.
Female preferred.

4 hours during weekends during term time
8 hours during school holidays to be decided flexibly

Essential:
I need you to:
• Take me places in the community. Having a car is essential.
• Provide a good level of supervision, sometimes I can be vulnerable in the community
• Be patient and take the time to understand my needs and wants.
• Have experience working with children with additional learning needs
Desirable
I’d prefer if:
• You were female.
• You are happy to take me out with my siblings and their PAs.
• You have experience working with BAME families
I’d like support with
• Keeping myself safe in the community
• Communicating my needs and wants
I will need my PA to:
Respect and understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality.
Be confident, mature and have patience.
Be dependable and arrive on time.
Be friendly with an easy-going manner.
Be adaptable and flexible.
Be supportive but not take over.
Have business insurance on your car to take clients out.
Concerning the position
A trial period will be necessary in the first instance in the form of a six-month probationary period. Salary will be paid monthly (Annual leave is calculated on a pro rata basis). A DBS MUST be processed prior to any commencement of employment. Costs of DBS will be met by Swansea council where applicant is eligible.
