The Trustees are looking to recruit to the post of

School Business Manager

Heywood Academy

£42,708 - £46,731 per annum

SCP 33 - 37

36 hours 40 minutes per week / Full year

Immediate Start

Heywood Academy will become the latest new school in the New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust when it opens its doors to students in September 2025.

It will be a 75-placement school that offers tailored educational support for children and young people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and/or who may experience Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) associated with ASC.

We are looking to recruit an experienced and qualified School Business Manager to join our fantastic new team. As the school will be at the very start of its journey and the new school staff and students will be embedding themselves, we are looking for colleagues who embrace flexibility and are willing to support where required. This could include reception and administration duties.

With the support of the Executive Head Teacher and the Trust’s central team, the successful candidate will play a significant role in:

  • leading and managing our new school with responsibility for all our non-curricular support teams.

  • setting and monitoring the budget.

  • implementing and reviewing all our business processes.

  • helping to shape the future direction of the school over the short and medium terms.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to develop their career in a new and exciting school with the support of the whole Trust. It is essential that candidates are fully qualified and have the experience of the same or similar role within an educational environment.

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to be part of our thriving team, who are committed to creating meaningful futures for both our students and staff

  • High quality continuing professional development (CPD) through our dedicated Everyone Learning Team

  • A commitment to future career development and progression within the trust

  • Westfield Health Membership and access to Westfield Benefits

  • Trust TOIL Scheme for all staff

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. It will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The DBS Code of Practice can be viewed here. For successful candidates, an online search will be carried out as part of our due- diligence in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023
