The Aurora Group is one of the largest providers of SEND educational and care services in the country, supporting over 1,200 children, young people and adults, and employing over 1,500 staff spread across 27 services around England.
Due to our continued growth; we’re currently looking for an Assistant Finance Business Partner. Whilst the role is home based, there is a requirement to travel occasionally to Twigworth, Gloucestershire where our Central Office provides financial support, leadership and governance to the group as well as a number of our sites across the country.
The Role:
As a key member of the Finance Business Partnering Team you’ll be working closely with our Finance Business Partner to ensure that the financial position and forecasting of a number of our services (schools/colleges) within the group is accurately reported.
You’ll play a key a role in supporting the Finance Business Partner to prepare the month end management accounts; assisting with the preparation of accruals and prepayments, transactional analysis, monthly reforecasts, balance sheet reconciliations and annual budgets. You will help to embed financial controls and processes on site and provide insightful analysis, performance monitoring and financial modelling as appropriate. All of these processes will support the service’s leadership teams to maintain good budgetary control; ensuring they are fully versed in their financials and are enabled to make appropriate decisions as a result.
Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of the team.
Experience: Successful candidates are likely to demonstrate: AAT Qualified (or studying towards CIMA) preferred. Experience in working in a Finance team, and experience of producing monthly management accounts and reports. Strong IT skills with good knowledge of Excel. High degree of accuracy/attention to detail. Excellent team player with strong communications skills, with an ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial managers. Credibility and confidence to work with senior managers across the organisation. Whilst the role is predominantly home based there will be a need to work from our office in Twigworth when required as well the occasional visits to our services.
