An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tree Nursery Officer to join the highly regarded Denbighshire Countryside Service team. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the Denbighshire County Tree Nursery. This will include sourcing local provenance native tree and wildflower seeds and cuttings, and using these to produce the thousands of trees and wildflowers required for planting projects throughout the county.
The post holder will work with colleagues and volunteers during the planting season, to manage, create, and enhance new woodland and wildflower areas as part of Denbighshire County Council’s Climate and Nature Recovery Response.
The post holder will be responsible for developing the commercial side of the nursery, to meet income generation targets for the site.
This position provides the successful candidate with the opportunity to make a real and positive impact on the conservation of important species and habitats within Denbighshire. Working within the Biodiversity Team, you will have an active role in ensuring the wildlife of Denbighshire is always valued and protected.
