JOB OVERVIEW
A well-established and expanding family-owned, food and farming business based in Fosdyke, Lincolnshire, East Midlands has a fantastic new job opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Agricultural Engineer with previous experience and a qualification in a mechanical or agricultural engineering, excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Working as the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Agricultural Engineer you will provide an efficient and e3ffective maintenance response to breakdowns and Planned Preventative Maintenance – PPM – by offering a high level of engineering services and technical support to the business and Farming teams.
As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Agricultural Engineer you will be focusing on improved reliability, reducing downtime, improving equipment performance and efficiency. The role covers both workshop and field support to the farming team.
DUTIES
Your duties as Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Agricultural Engineer will include:
• Assist the Lead Engineer to fulfil the engineering strategy
• Complete the day-to-day tasks within the engineering team assisting with cover and skills for the workload to meet the business needs
• Ensure you provide accurate records, logging work and assisting effective reporting against engineering KPIs and the budget – file all paperwork/records timely
• To continually drive towards a preventative maintenance culture
• Assist with the identification and management of engineering projects from inception to installation
• Ensure that stock is stored and issued correctly to enable effective budgeting, cost control and effectiveness of the engineering department
• Actively identify areas for improvement in equipment performance
• Follow all company procedures for Health & Safety, People, Quality and Hygiene
• Act as an ambassador driving good practice throughout the organisation ensuring positive communication and relationships between departments
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, assist with training of machinery where necessary
• Ensure department is always audit ready and compliant with Health & Safety Legislation – NFU/ LOLER/ Vulcan
• Follow the planned maintenance program, keep the tracker up to date, therefore keeping equipment moving through the workshop
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• A qualification in either mechanical or agricultural engineering is essential
• Post-qualification experience is essential
• A self-motivated individual, who can work to a high standard on their own initiative
• Understanding Health & Safety legislation, its implications to you, your colleagues and the company
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow safe working practices
• Ensuring that you and your colleagues are committed to product food safety, integrity, quality and legality
• Ensuring that you are part of and help maintain and develop the food safety culture of the business
• Adhering to the Company’s standards and Values
• Responsible for identifying and achieving own development and that of direct reports
• Time management, planning the day and communication to relevant parties
