We are looking for full time, part time & relief Support Workers to join our team in the Dersingham area where we support 4 wonderful people who live together. Their home is an extremely well-equipped bungalow which has a lovely homely feel to it. All 4 people lead busy lives and participate in lots of community-based activities such as carriage riding, hydrotherapy, going to the Theatre, holidays abroad or simply popping out for a bite to eat!
The role will be varied and not only will you become a positive role model in their lives, you will be supporting people with many aspects of daily living such as shopping, preparing meals, housework and support with personal care.

The current staff team are extremely dedicated to the people they support and between them, have years of experience. You will be able to draw on this experience and expertise if you are successful. You will also have the full support of our very 'hands on managers' who don't just sit in an office all day! All our managers are a real presence in support locations which is invaluable in creating a caring, nurturing environment for our staff teams.
You must have a genuine interest in supporting people with learning disabilities and be able to clearly differentiate between care and support: the emphasis is on enabling people to do things for themselves, not doing things for them.

This can be very rewarding, however as you would naturally expect there are inevitably some difficult and challenging situations. You need to be the sort of person that can take things in their stride, remain calm and be confident in dealing with them appropriately.
Experience is welcome but there is no substitute for the right attitude, a caring nature and a sense of humour.
