Job title: COBOL Technical Lead
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Technical Lead for a futuristic position. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL, along with proven experience in leading technical teams and managing end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
Drive the overall system architecture and ensure alignment with business and technical requirements.
Manage release planning and execution, including deployment and post-release support.
Oversee a team of developers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Ensure compliance with SDLC standards and best practices across the project lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
Continuously evaluate processes and tools to optimize system performance and team productivity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
Proven understanding of mainframe system architecture and application integration.
Experience in release and configuration management in mainframe environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage project deliverables.
In-depth understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Prior experience working in BFSI or large enterprise environments.
Exposure to modernization or migration projects is a plus.
