The Station Staff Officer reports direct to the Station Commander and Regimental Second in Command. In times of deployment on operations or exercises you (at the discretion of the Station Commander) deputise activities of Station Commander, with exclusions including discipline.
Key responsibilities:
Provide staff support for the Station Commander.
Support to Station events.
Providing support to the Head of Establishment by undertaking the role of Unit Safety Adviser.
Being the focal point for all Station activities including Encroachments, Leases and Licenses, and liaising with Defence Infrastructure Organisation and Land Management Services as necessary to ensure all activities are undertaken within the bounds of policy.
Supervision of contracts and contractors, with the exception of the SMAC (Super Multi Activity Contract) with ESS, including acting as the customer focus to Defence Infrastructure Organisation.
Lead on infrastructure future planning and subsequent delivery, supported by Quarter Master/Regimental Quarter Master Sergeant.
Maintaining, as the Station Security Officer, all aspects of the Security of Hullavington Station, including the daily Management and report writing for the Military Provost Guard Service Platoon.
Responsible for writing, implementing and maintaining the Security Standing Orders, Business Continuity Plan and Station Risk Management Plan.
Emergency Planning in line with Headquarters South West direction.
Member of Wiltshire Police Protect and Prepare Multi-agency Contest Board dealing with Counter Terrorism strategy.
Deputise for Station Commander in their absence.
