Crynodeb

As the Specialist Instructional Officer Physical Training (SIO - PTIO), you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive physical training programs. Your primary duties will include preparing and conducting both indoor and outdoor physical training sessions in accordance with the Army Physical Training Policy. This includes a variety of activities such as loaded marches, battle PT sessions, and obstacle course lessons. You will also organise and lead physical training tests, including the Soldier Conditioning Review (SCR) and the Role Fitness Test (RFT (S)). Additionally, you will provide induction training to new trainees and plan recreational training activities under the direction of the Master At Arms, a Commissioned Officer. Furthermore, you may be involved in Adventurous Training activities, ensuring a well-rounded physical training curriculum for all personnel. This role is suitable for individuals with Armed Forces experience, though it is not essential, or a background in an educational establishment, who understands the demands of complex and demanding physical training for a wide cohort of personnel.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and delivering all gymnasium sessions in accordance with Army Physical Training Policy
Conducting indoor and outdoor physical training activities as per Training Program.
Preparing lessons and PT training testing periods in line with Army Policy, encompassing Soldier Conditioning Assessment (SCA), which is an indoor and outdoor assessment using a series of gym-based exercises to indicate the overall physical conditioning of an individual across all components of fitness. The Role Fitness Test (Soldier) (RFT (S)) serves as the in-service physical test.
Delivering induction training for Physical Training instructors to trainees, military and civilian permanent staff, and dependants.
Planning and leading recreational training as directed by the Commanding Officer, under the direction of the Master At Arms, a Commissioned Officer.
Conducting Adventurous Training activities when appropriately qualified and directed by the Commanding Officer, under the direction of the Master At Arms, an Royal Army Physical Training Corps Commissioned Officer.
