What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint a teacher who is able to teach both Health and Social Care and Physical Education. The successful applicant will be dynamic and ready for a new challenge. You will be an exceptional practitioner with high expectations of every student.

The Teacher of Health and Social Care/Physical Education will be accountable for: planning and teaching lessons to the classes they are assigned to teach within the context of the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work. The successful candidate would teach students in Key Stage 3 and 4 with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5.

Our successful candidate will have the following experience, skillset and qualifications:

- Honours Degree

- DfE recognised Qualified Teacher Status

- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Evidence of keeping up to date with educational thinking and knowledge

- Suitability to work with young children

- Able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people

- Positive attitude to use of authority and maintaining discipline

- Experience of teaching in a secondary school

This post will be full time (part time applications will be considered) and will be a temporary contract of up to one year to cover a period of maternity leave, to start in September 2025.
