Deputy Head of Admissions
Location: London
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Morgan Hunt are delighted to be working in partnership with a London university to recruit a Deputy Head of Admissions on a 1-year fixed term contract.
As a key member of the admissions leadership team, you will support the Head of Student Recruitment and Admissions and lead a team of around 25-30 staff to deliver a high-quality, fair and compliant admissions service. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring an excellent applicant experience and drive improvements across admissions systems, policies and service delivery.
The role offers hybrid working, with 2-3 days per week based on-site at the London campus.
Main Responsibilities of the Deputy Head of Admissions:
* Provide operational leadership to the admissions team, ensuring applications are processed efficiently, accurately and in line with policy
* Line manage one direct report and support wider team development through coaching, performance management and annual appraisals
* Lead the development and optimisation of admissions IT systems including CRM and student records platforms
* Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulations, including UCAS and UKVI requirements
* Represent the Head of Admissions as required and lead on senior-level projects relating to structure, policy, performance and process improvement
* Liaise with academic departments and professional services to support collaborative working and a seamless applicant journey
* Monitor and report on admissions data to ensure service level agreements are met and identify areas for improvement
* Actively engage with sector developments and use insight to shape internal practice
* Contribute to the university's strategic objectives on recruitment, entry levels, and widening participation
The Successful Deputy Head of Admissions will have:
* Substantial experience in a senior higher education admissions role
* Deep understanding of UCAS processes, compliance and applicant lifecycle management
* Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing teams and developing others
* Experience in using data, digital systems and CRM tools to enhance performance
* Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills
* A degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field
