As a senior leader, the postholder will be expected to have clinical expertise in acute medicine nursing, with expert organisational skills to develop and manage acute medicine nursing, and a passion for developing people to enable high-quality care provision for patients. Our MAU works closely with the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Assessment Unit (AAU). MAU prides itself on providing high-quality care and a patient experience in a caring and supportive environment that enhances your clinical expertise. Staff receive support and ongoing development tailored to your individual needs. We provide all the following: Daily consultant and criteria-led discharges Ward and multi-disciplinary board rounds Daily multidisciplinary team input from physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social workers Rapid access to consultants in all core specialities, most days of the week Links with clinical nurse specialists for conditions such as ACS, heart failure, COPD, oncology and palliative care Fast access to diagnostics Daily input from the substance misuse team Joint working with our community partners, including falls teams, COPD teams and district nurses
