Summary

About the School:This specialist setting caters to both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a wide range of complex needs. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing, structured, and engaging environment where every pupil can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

· The Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

· Location: Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire

· Start Date: September 2025

· Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 15:30

· Pay: £84.05 - £90 per day (inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay)



· Contract: Temp to Perm

Key Responsibilities:

· Build strong, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and supported

· Assist in delivering creative, individualised lessons tailored to each pupil's needs

· Provide 1:1 and small group support focused on communication, sensory integration, and emotional regulation

· Promote independence and encourage positive behaviour

· Support pupils with personal care, physiotherapy, and other individual needs

· Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff

· Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

What We're Looking For:

· Experience supporting children or young people with ASD, PMLD, or SLD

· A compassionate, patient, and proactive attitude

· Strong teamwork and communication skills

· An understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and equal opportunities

· Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

· Ability to reliably commute to Welwyn Garden City
