Job Title: Waking night Female Personal Care Assistant

Responsible to: The employer

Hours: 11-22 hours per week

Time: 21:00-08:00
Week one: 1 night per week
Week two: 2 nights per week

Hourly Rate of Pay: £12.50 Per Hour

Based at: Ward End, Birmingham

Job Purpose

I am a 48-year-old woman with a rare type of Muscular Dystrophy which means my muscles are weak which has led to me using NIV (non- invasive ventilator) and a powered wheelchair. I have a team of great staff that help me at various times of the day specially to go out so I can walk my assistance dog. I like going to concerts, cinema, shopping, playing games and binge-watching TV series.

Main duties
To support with:
Monitor breathing while I sleep and fix any issues that may arise with non- invasive ventilator (NIV)

Manual handling with another care worker, includes use of hoist/slide sheet

Personal care including washing and dressing

Light household cleaning such as washing up

Perform any duties that are required that are a reasonable request


Person Specification:
Be a dog lover as I have an assistance dog

Like watching TV / movies as TV on all night

Be good at staying awake all night

To be honest, friendly and have a sense of humour as these are very important to me

Good communication and listening skills

Be able to work solo and as a team

Training will be given in all aspects of my care.

Special Conditions:
A Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) and two satisfactory references are conditional for the post. This is a free and confidential process.
