An exciting TA position within our nursery working alongside people who are passionate about early years education and committed to providing the highest quality care.
Your new school
Beacon Academy is a thriving Primary Academy in Loughborough, serving children aged 2 to 11 years old. We are dedicated to ensuring that every child receives an excellent education every day, with high expectations, a broad and enriching curriculum, and a strong focus on personal development.
The school was graded 'good' in all areas in 2021 by Ofsted and has gone from strength to strength since. It is an IQM (Inclusion Quality Mark ) Centre of Excellence school and is passionate about providing the best opportunities for its pupils. In January 2024 we appointed an ambitious Principal, Mr Ben Kilgannon, who lives locally and is hugely passionate about the school, its community and staff. As a hands-on Principal, he is a big believer in working collaboratively and continuously developing staff to ensure all pupils reach their full potential. Beacon Academy is the epitome of teamwork where everyone feels valued and heard.
Your new role
Due to a retirement we are looking for a teaching assistant to join our nursery in our 2 to 3 year old room. Working with our early years lead, who has been with the school over 10 years, you will work alongside another long serving teaching assistant. Our Nursery and Reception classes offer a blend of indoor and outdoor learning, providing children with opportunities to explore, play, and learn in a language-rich environment. We provide a supportive learning environment where children can thrive. Our balanced approach combines whole-class teaching, small group activities, and one-to-one support, as well as opportunities for child-initiated play. We work closely with parents to ensure every child's journey is a happy and successful one.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a L3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent or willingness to work towards this qualification with an understanding of a range of pupil's learning needs. You will have patience in interactions with a variety of students and situations, with a calm demeanour and have empathy to understand the needs and challenges of students and be able to relate to them on a personal level. You will also be somebody who can engage and enthuse students to want to learn.
We will review applications and interview ASAP so please apply or make contact ASAP.
