Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can help young people overcome emotional and behavioural challenges to succeed in school life?
We are working in partnership with a specialist all-through school in Shepshed that supports children aged 5-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school prides itself on creating a calm and structured environment that gives every pupil the opportunity to thrive.
This full-time Teaching Assistant position will begin in September 2025, but the school is currently offering trial days and interviews to ensure the right fit ahead of the new academic year. If you are resilient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting vulnerable students, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to SEMH needs
- Help students develop self-regulation skills, confidence, and positive relationships
- Support the implementation of behaviour strategies and consistent routines
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN is desirable
- Experience in sports coaching, sports, mentoring, youth work etc is desirable but not essential
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional support
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
