We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development and data management, with expertise in various programming languages and technologies. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems that support our data processing needs. The Senior Programmer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance our operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain robust applications using Python and other programming languages.
Design and implement data processing workflows using Apache Hive and Hadoop.
Collaborate with data engineers to optimise data warehouse solutions.
Write efficient Shell scripts using Bash Unix shell for automation of tasks.
Analyse system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Work with AWS services to deploy and manage applications in the cloud environment.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior programmers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Experience
Proven experience as a programmer or software developer, preferably in a senior role.
Strong proficiency in Python, with experience in server-side development.
Familiarity with Hadoop ecosystems and data warehousing concepts.
Experience with Apache Hive for data querying and analysis.
Proficient in Bash Unix shell scripting for task automation.
Knowledge of Informatica or similar ETL tools is advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
