KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the
Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale,
productivity and performance.
2. Be responsible for the day to day operation of the Leisure Centre and associated facilities when on duty.
3. Line manage and support the Leisure Supervisors to ensure that staff are deployed efficiently in accordance with policy and procedures.
4. Ensure that the Leisure Supervisors devise the staff rota in line with the staffing establishment and arrange appropriate cover for absences as required.
5. Ensure high performance and presentation standards of the staff and building are
maintained at all times.
6. Ensure that the financial regulations are followed at all times and to support the
Leisure Manager in monitoring the Leisure Centre budget, reducing costs and
increasing income where possible.
7. Help to establish a sales culture and to develop the use of social media as a marketing tool.
8. Consult with customers and staff on the operation of the Leisure Centre and to
ensure the Leisure Manager is informed of any issues or improvements that may
contribute to the effectiveness or efficiency of the Centre.
9. Work effectively with all clubs and user groups to ensure that customer care
standards are upheld and that facilities and equipment are provided in accordance with the needs of different user groups and individuals.
10. Ensure the activity booking system and High Life membership scheme is
administered and maintained to a satisfactory standard.
11. Assist with the monitoring and collation of performance statistics and other returns as required.
12. Ensure customer information is up to date, available and delivered to High Life Highland standards.
13. Assist in the management of the Leisure Centre’s event programme and assist in the organisation and promotion of activity programmes and special projects.
14. Implement, monitor and review health and safety systems of work and policies within the Leisure Centre (including, NOP, EAP, COSHH, Risk Assessments) and to ensure that all staff are conversant with and adhere to instructions and written procedures at all times.
15. Ensure all Leisure Centre staff and Management have up to date First Aid qualifications.
16. Monitor the cleanliness of the Leisure Centre and equipment and carry out cleaning duties when required.
17. Carry out regular maintenance inspections and duties in relation to buildings, surrounding areas and equipment and to maintain appropriate records.
18. Be a key holder and ensure the security procedures are complied with at all times and respond to out of hours calls when required.
19. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of Inverness Leisure and High Life Highland as a whole.
20. Attend and undertake any training online or in person.
21. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold our environmental values of being as sustainable as possible in all tasks.
22. Assist and support other areas of High Life Highland with particular projects, training or in the event of holidays or sickness working cross-functionally across the Inverness Leisure team.
23. Work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays ensuring you are up to date with your rostered shifts and give advance notice of any leave requests for consideration.
24. Undertake all tasks in accordance with High Life Highland policies and procedures, including General Data Protection Regulations, health and safety procedures, relevant checks, reporting any concerns to management to ensure corrective action is taken.
