My career at Myerscough College – Empowering Futures

About the role

Are you passionate about the sportsturf industry, considering a career change?

Would you like to use your hands-on experience and specialist knowledge to help shape the future of the sector?

Do you want a role that offers progression opportunities and a work/life balance?

If so, this could be the role for you.

As a Work-Based Tutor in Sportsturf, you’ll play a vital role in mentoring apprentices as they work towards Greenkeeping and Sportsturf apprenticeship standards. Drawing on your background in golf course maintenance, grounds management, or wider sportsturf operations, you’ll support the next generation of professionals entering the industry.

Working flexibly, you will manage and visit a cohort of apprentices based across a range of golf and sports facilities. You’ll inspire and engage learners to succeed through impactful, practical, and motivational teaching, learning, and assessment.

Apply today and join our team of dedicated professional tutors as a Work-Based Tutor in Sportsturf – and make a lasting impact on the industry you know and love.

Location of work

The position is to support apprentices around various counties in the Midlands. This is a field-based role where the tutor works from home, supported by the College. There is a requirement to attend Apprenticeship and Skills development days at the Preston campus which take place 3 to 4 times per year (subsistence and accommodation provided). It may be the case that from time to time you may work collaboratively with other tutors or deliver from specific locations. Occasionally you may be asked to work out of area for business reasons in which case accommodation will be provided.
