Millfield is one of the UK’s most dynamic and diverse independent schools, with a bold mission to Discover Brilliance in Every Child. As we celebrate our 90th anniversary and look ahead to our Centenary Campaign, Discover Brilliance, we are seeking an inspiring and strategic Deputy Director of Development to help drive our philanthropic vision forward.
In this pivotal role, you will lead a small, high-performing team to deliver Millfield’s engagement and fundraising strategy. You’ll play a central part in shaping our major gift programme, building meaningful relationships with alumni, parents, and supporters, and supporting transformative campaigns that open up life-changing educational opportunities.
We’re looking for a confident and experienced fundraiser with a strong track record in securing significant gifts, managing donor pipelines, and developing compelling cases for support. You will bring leadership, insight and energy, along with a passion for education and a belief in the power of philanthropy to change lives.
Normal working hours are 9.00am–5.00pm, Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend commitments to engage with donors and attend events. UK and occasional international travel will be required. Hybrid working is available for up to two days per week. The role offers a competitive salary of £60,000+ per annum based on knowledge and experience.
If you’re excited by the idea of helping shape the future of a school that dares to be different, we’d love to hear from you.
Applications will close at 12 noon on Friday, 4 July.
We anticipate that first-round interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams with the Director of Development and are likely to take place on Wednesday 9 or Thursday 10 July.
Second-round interviews are expected to be held in person, either in London or at the Senior School campus in Street, Somerset (location to be confirmed). These are scheduled to take place on Monday 14 or Tuesday 15 July.
