Job Description: Technical Services Manager


Location: Central South and Midlands UK

Working Days: Five-day week 08:00 – 17:00; flexibility will be required to fit the business and client need



Purpose:


To manage external contractors and assist the Head of Hard Services. Work a standard five-day week (08:00 – 17:00) with necessary flexibility to meet business and client needs. Conduct regular site visits and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas needing remedial work.


Key Areas of Responsibility:


Standards:


  • Ensure full statutory compliance across all sites within your portfolio.
  • Margin maintenance for all quoted reactive works.
  • Conduct technical audits at various locations as required.
  • Attend client meetings as necessary.


Equipment:


  • Manage and provide technical support to directly employed engineers.
  • Keep up-to-date records of subcontractor induction and competency information.
  • Implement systems to manage RAMS and safe systems of work when supervising subcontractors.


Products:


  • Support contract administrators with technical assistance.
  • Help obtain quotations for remedial works and small projects.


Health and Safety:


  • Work within the company's Sustainability and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain F-Gas registers across your portfolio.
  • Manage permits, including permit to work, hot works, and working at height, for both direct and subcontract engineers.


Communication:


  • Communicate effectively with clients and all reporting staff.
  • Promote company values and initiatives.


Company Quality Procedures:


  • Ensure compliance with all company quality procedures.
  • Constantly appraise operating models for efficiency savings and self-delivery opportunities.


Miscellaneous:


  • Carry out any other ad hoc tasks deemed necessary by the Head of Hard Services.


Qualifications or Required Experience:


  • General knowledge in Fire/Security/Mechanical/Electrical/Refrigeration.
  • Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, CAFM).
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about other building systems, BMS, cooling towers, lifts, and other systems.
